Bang Waek
บางแวก
BTS · Silom Line Future station
Description
Bang Waek is stored as a future BTS Silom Line station in ThaiCozy, around the Bang Waek area of Phasi Charoen on Bangkok's Thonburi side. The current operating BTS/MRT anchor remains Bang Wa, while reports on the Bang Wa-Taling Chan extension describe a possible route north from Bang Wa along Ratchaphruek Road, passing Bang Waek junction. Until official construction and opening are confirmed, the BTS benefit should be treated as future upside only.
The neighborhood is defined by canals, low-rise residential streets and local cultural anchors rather than a finished mass-transit hub. Wikimedia/OSM-linked sources identify Khlong Bang Waek as a canal in Bangkok, and Wat Bang Waek as a recognized temple in Phasi Charoen. The wider district connects back to Bang Wa, Phet Kasem, Ratchaphruek, local markets, schools and canal-side communities, giving the area a more domestic, west-Bangkok feel than central Silom or Siam.
For real estate, Bang Waek is a value and family-oriented location with potential if the future extension moves forward. Houses, townhomes and lower-density condos may appeal to buyers wanting more space, canal-side character and access toward Bang Wa/MRT without paying central BTS prices. The upside is future rail proximity and Ratchaphruek connectivity; the risks are uncertain station timing, car dependency, drainage, narrow local roads, flood resilience, and whether rent demand is strong enough before the rail project is built.
