Chiang Rak should still be treated as a future station area rather than as an operating Red Line stop. The current record is correctly marked `future`, and the strongest official evidence available today comes from planning and procurement material for the Dark Red Line extension from `Rangsit` to `Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus`. A State Railway of Thailand procurement notice explicitly lists `Chiang Rak` among the four stations on that extension, and a recent official planning brochure from `JICA` and the `Ministry of Transport` also places it on the Pathum Thani-side corridor. That is enough to confirm long-term corridor relevance, but not enough to oversell present-day station utility.
The neighborhood is still meaningful in property terms because the surrounding catchment already has major education and research anchors. Official `Thammasat University` sources confirm the presence of `Rangsit Campus` in `Khlong Nueng`, while official `Asian Institute of Technology` contact information places AIT in the same broader Pathum Thani academic corridor. Together with `SIIT`, this creates a real campus-and-research geography that could support daily movement by students, faculty, researchers, staff and service workers if the future station is delivered.
